About Us
We started Advanced Respiratory Interventions & Sleep Evaluation (ARISE) Medical Research Centre to provide superior care in the field of respiratory & sleep medicine. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellent patient care. We provide consultative services to intensive care units, as well as for inpatients & outpatients on all adult & pediatric respiratory & sleep disorders.
We operate daily outpatient pulmonary clinics as well as specialist services for both common & unusual illnesses such as asthma, bronchiectasis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial lung disease, connective tissue related lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, pulmonary hypertension, sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, pleural diseases, tuberculosis & mycobacterial diseases. We offer individualized treatment for multidrug resistant tuberculosis.

Dr. Punamiya pursued postgraduate training in Pulmonary Medicine from Sir J. J. Group of Hospitals. Subsequently, he spent the next ten years in United Kingdom & Australia learning the newer techniques in diagnostic bronchoscopy, intensive care medicine and specialized in Sleep Disorders. After returning to India, he had been working with Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, where he assisted in setting up the Pulmonary Medicine Department. He is also one of the founding director of Advanced Respiratory Interventions & Sleep Evaluation (ARISE) Medical Research Centre, a company established to improve care in Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine. More recently he was a panelist for Tobacco Harm Reduction.
Services & Procedures
Analyze various physiologic pulmonary function tests including spirometry, static lung volumes & diffusion studies, as well as Six – minute walk test.
Demonstrate & review patient’s inhaler technique, providing with appropriate information regarding maintenance & cleaning of spacer devices.
We have ties with specialist physiotherapists to provide services such as pulmonary rehabilitation, chest physiotherapy, postural drainage techniques.
Review CT & CXRs on our system in the clinic & be able to explain to the patient promptly.
We also counsel our patients regarding Smoking Cessation & assist their efforts to quit with medical support.
Managing patients on Non-Invasive ventilation – Acute & Domiciliary; as well as patients on Invasive Mechanical Ventilation.
We perform adult as well as pediatric diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies to manage various lung conditions. We also perform Linear (EBUS), which helps diagnosis of mediastinal lymphadenopathy, staging of lung cancer & diagnostic evaluation of central pulmonary lesions.
Medical Thoracoscopy is performed under local anesthetic & sedation for diagnosis & management of pleural disorders.
Our dedicated SLEEP LAB with deluxe room is equipped with latest Philips Respironics Alice 6 software for evaluation of various Sleep Disorders in adults & children as well as the state of the art Omnilab Advanced for CPAP Titration studies.
